Designed by Caroline De Lane Lea and built by Belderbos Landscapes.
The outside space was extended to enhance the experience for visitors. With all materials having to be transported through a working museum, the project had to be run with absolute precision and care. Indian sandstone was used to replicate York stone and raised planters were built to provide informal seating for visitors.
"Belderbos Landscapes created a space in the Charles Dickens Museum that has been admired by visitors ever since."
